During this Jubilee year of Mercy, Francis has asked thousands of homeless people to come to the Eternal City

This November 11-13, at the invitation of Pope Francis, 6,000 homeless people from all over Europe will arrive in Rome for a three-day retreat during the European Festival of Joy and Mercy. This is one of the signature events for the Jubilee Year and answers the call Francis has issued to the worldwide Church, which he expressed a couple days after his election:

“How I would like a Church that is poor, and for the poor!”
