“Thy Will” is a letter to God breaking the silence after tragedy
There’s this pressure that you’re supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.
Lady Antebellum lead singer Hillary Scott has never written a song from such a raw place. The country singer and mother of a two-year-old daughter lost her second child last fall.
She acknowledges that a lot of women turn to silence; miscarriages aren’t talked about much. “I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened,” adds Scott.
So she decided to break the silence.
In her first solo album since rising to fame with Lady Antebellum, Hillary Scott recently released the faith-based country album Love Remains together with members of her family – her mother, father, and younger sister.
“Thy Will,” which is featured on the album, is her letter to God after the heartbreaking loss of her child. “As I ask some really hard questions,” she says, “I hold onto the truth that there is so much to the story of my life that I can’t see, but that I still choose to trust Him.”
“Thy Will” and the Love Remains album are available on iTunes. Share the song – maybe someone you know needs to hear that they’re not alone in their suffering.
