Podcasts have yet to solidify their spot in the exciting world of evangelizing through new media. They haven’t yet gained the popularity of Catholic YouTube videos, Snapchat accounts, and Facebook Live video streams.
But they should!
Here are four Catholic podcasts you don’t want to be missing:
As described on its iTunes page, Girlfriends is a podcast that connects women with what really matters: faith and family, work and relationships. Danielle Bean has an amazing way of expressing the important truths of our faith and effectively communicating how we can practically live out those truths in our day to day lives.
As an author and speaker, Danielle is all about providing an encouraging voice to women of all walks of life. Through her Momnipotent book and program, she has directly touched the lives of so many women struggling to find joy and happiness amidst the monotonous routines we so easily fall into.
With her podcast, she brings a fantastic group of friends along for the ride. On tops that range from how to handle social media, to how to make fitness work for you, to the hilarious five ways to not eat a cupcake, Danielle and her guests dish out a perfect blend of serious topics with a humorous angle that will keep you interested and laughing all the way through.
Do Something Beautiful (Leah Darrow)
Everyone knows Leah Darrow as the America’s Next Top Model contestant turned Catholic speaker and role model, and now she has taken her talents to the world of podcasting.
Leah is out to share inspirational people and heartwarming stories that add true beauty to the world — something we all sorely need. From covering the canonization of Mother Teresa, to challenging you to accept “The Closet Challenge” by taking a true inventory of needs vs. wants, Leah is just getting this podcast off the ground and showing tons of potential and promise in the process.
She’s challenging us all to do something beautiful, and in doing so she’s creating something beautiful herself!
In an effort to bring a little something for the fellas, next up on our list is The Catholic Man Show hosted by Adam Minihan and David Niles.
With a description as simple as the idea, Adam and David are two regular Catholic dudes with a radio show where they talk about trying to live a Catholic life in a secular world. They strike the perfect balance between keeping things educational and entertaining, including bringing a great sense of humor accessible to both men and women.
From laying out the duties of men, to taking on the very sensitive issue of Catholic voting, to bringing on A-list guests such as Patrick Coffin, the Catholic Man Show has a little bit of everything for everyone hoping to learn about the faith while having a great time doing it.
They’re even willing to tackle the topic of NFP, which is not typically something you’d hear about on a “man show,” so you know this is a can’t-miss.
Catholic Stuff You Should Know
Four priests from the Archdiocese of Denver are on a mission to cover the widest range of Catholic topics possible, and let’s face it, there’s a lot we should know!
Hitting up everything from pride to priestly vestments to papal infallibility, CSYSK informs the faithful, as well as those outside the Church wanting to learn more about Catholicism, while keeping things fresh and funny.
And if all of that isn’t enough, it’s worth noting this is one of the most reliable Catholic podcasts out there, pumping out new episodes on the regular since 2010!
As one reviewer on iTunes remarked, CSYSK is “the champagne of Catholic podcasts.”
Drink up, my friends.
