Photo of the Day: June 23, 2017MOST OBSCURE CATHOLIC TRIVIA FACT #25

This has to be one of the most obscure Catholic trivia facts in modern history: Did you know that in January 2005 the Ferrari F1 racing team had the opportunity to meet with Pope John Paul II (Saint John Paul the Great)? Well a few months later he passed away on April 2, 2005 and on the day after, April 3, 2005, at the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix, the nose cones on all of the cars were painted black to mourn the Popes passing. True Story!

Pictured is Michael Shummacher, one of the sports most iconic drivers, stepping behind the wheel of his F2005 and driving to take his position in the qualifying heat.
