An adventurer’s “Mom, I’m Fine” messages have been a great way to ease his mother’s concerns. When he quit his job to travel the world, Jonathan Kubben Quiñonez knew his mother might not be thrilled with the idea. What mother would be comfortable knowing her son was travelling the globe on his own? But being a loving son, he didn’t want her worrying. Instead, Jonathan started posting his travails on social media with his trademark message, “Mom, I’m fine.”

It all started when Jonathan, then working in Brussels as a consultant, realized that he was living his life “on autopilot,” as he recounts on his website. After re-evaluating his life, he announced to his family on his 27th birthday that he had decided to take the leap and travel the world.

This year, in honor of Mother’s Day, he even invited his mother to join him for backpacking in Indonesia!

Jonathan now uses his presence on social media to inspire others to live their lives with adventure! Or, as he put it, living life on the edge.
