What a comforting sound! One of America’s premier violinists, Jenny Baker, has been impressing with her prodigious talent since she was 8 years old. Jenny has released 13 albums; her 2011 Disney tribute album was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album.

Baker has played in venues all over the country including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Library of Congress. She has been featured as a soloist by the National Symphony, Jerusalem Symphony, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and more. Her music has been used for several movie soundtracks.

“Nearer, My God, to Thee” is the fifth track from her 2016 album, Awakening. It was originally written in the 19th century by Sarah Flower Adams. The tune became more famous after survivors of the Titanic reported the string ensemble played it as the ship sank.
