Her new single “Run the Race” is a real ear-worm.

Holly Starr began writing songs at the age of 14 and recorded her first EP a year later. She has recorded 3 independent records since then, and is currently working on a new album, Human, which she has been funding through Kickstarter. “Run the Race” is the first single released from this new project.
Holly grew up on an onion farm in Quincy, Washington, where she was raised with a strong Christian faith. She was always athletic and competed in track and field. However, when she felt a calling to the ministry of music she left competitive running behind so she could focus on writing.
She takes her role as a “worship leader” very seriously and finds great joy in drawing a crowd’s attention to God. In a 2014 interview she explained:
I just love to direct the attention of people towards God, because it’s so easy for us to get frustrated … we don’t have the answers in our life about the things that are frustrating or hurting us, and so we tend to go away from God. But once we realize that God isn’t there to condemn us, or to hurt us — he’s actually there to help us in those times and that evil — he doesn’t want evil in our life. He never meant for that to happen to us.
Holly’s Kickstarter has already exceeded her goal of $20,000, but she has several stretch goals which have yet to be met. There are still two days left to donate. If you would like to be a part of her new album you can find information here.
