French priests take part in the Padre Cup, a kart-racing championship just for priests, on June 7, 2010 at the Jean-Pierre Beltoise karting track in Trappes, near Paris. Seventy priests entered the challenge that day, competing for several hours in a race where each lap earned donations to charity, pledged by spectators and sponsors. In 2015 the race drew 40 priests representing 10 dioceses and communities — including a team composed entirely of priests from Congo-Brazzaville, and an 80-year-old cathedral dean!
