The Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene, Salt Lake City, dedicated in August 1909 by Cardinal Gibbons, is one of the greatest ecclesiastical structures west of the Missouri River. This view shows the immensity of the reredos, with St. Mary Magdalene in the center. Among the carved wooden saints in the reredos are St. Dominic and St. Francis; St. Mary Magdalene is secondary patroness of the Dominicans.
