In addition to all the sporting achievements at this year's Paralympics, there was room for a little romance. Luckily cameras caught the sweet moment for the world to see.
Keula Nidreia Pereira Semedo is a visually impaired athlete who competes in the T11 100m and 200m event. In order to get around the track safely she relies on her guide, Manuel Antonio Vaz da Veiga.
At the end of the heats for the 200m race at this year's games, Semedo got a little surprise from Vaz da Veiga. The sporty guide got down on one knee to propose to the Cape Verdean. Happily she gave a resounding "yes," much to the joy of fellow athletes and guides.
The Paralympics Twitter account shared the heart-warming occasion with the perfectly apt caption: "May the two of them run together for life!"
