July will be busy though, with a trip to Canada still on the agenda.

As is the case every year, the general audiences with Pope Francis each Wednesday are suspended for the entire month of July. They will resume on Wednesday, August 3.

The meeting with the faithful before the Sunday noon Angelus will continue.

However, the break from the Wednesday audience with the faithful does not meana vacation for the Pope: Since the beginning of his pontificate, unlike his predecessors, Jorge Mario Bergoglio does not retire to the summer papal residence of Castel Gandolfo. He remains in the Vatican, still receives guests and continues his daily work.

In addition, this year, the 85-year-old pope, despite his knee issue, is scheduled to make an apostolic trip to Canada from July 24 to 30.
