A miracle inked to the intercession of St. John Paul II's parents is currently under investigation.

In 2020, the Archdiocese of Krakow opened the cause of canonization of Karol Wojtyła, Sr., and Emilia nee Kaczorowska, the parents of St. John Paul II. During this initial phase of investigation of their cause, a possible miracle has been linked to their intercession.

Luke Coppen for The Pillar reported that "Msgr. Sławomir Oder, who also served as postulator of the Polish pope’s cause, told the Catholic news agency KAI that he had received multiple reports of purported miracles."

Msgr. Oder explained that, "I am now waiting for the medical records to be collected for expert opinion."

However, before any reported miracles can be considered, the Vatican will need to affirm that they lived lives of "heroic virtue." Once that is confirmed, they will be given the title of, "venerable."

After this initial phase is complete, miracles will be analyzed by the Vatican, and only one miracle needs to be verified in order for John Paul II's parents to be beatified.

While it is still relatively early in the cause for their canonization, reports of miracles is a positive sign and may help the cause progress in a speedy manner.
