It's hard to forget the moment a working dad, trying to remain professional while giving a news report from home, was interrupted by his two kids.
The video garnered millions of views and comments from other parents who could appreciate Professor Robert Kelly's frustration, and his impressive composure. And of course, many delighted in the gorgeous kids who dashed in to join their dad, and the poor woman who desperately tried to get their children out of the room.
Incredibly, the interruption took place six years ago. And since then, with the COVID pandemic necessitating many of us to work from home, parents around the world can appreciate how stressful it is to try and work from home with youngsters in the house.
But what we can learn from this sweet little moment in news history, is how quickly our kids grow. Not only does it feel like yesterday that the youngsters -- Marion, then aged 4, and James, nine months old -- burst on to our screens, but now they seem to be behaving beautifully as their father, also known as the BBC Dad, shared in a recent tweet.
It's not surprising that the new post was liked by many fans of the family man, as one tweet so aptly pointed out: "I love your story because it gave everyone a chance to laugh at the craziness of family life."
Whereas another tweet reminded us how kids have become a huge part of our working life:
"Your kids are my favourite anarchists. I think the covid years have brought enormous sympathy in how kids show up in our working lives. May your kids keep bringing good humor."
Yet, as we see the family growing up, and young Marion still performing -- only this time in an organized singing performance -- we are reminded to enjoy all the surprises, joy, and stress that kids bring to our lives, as before we know it, they'll be leaving home and raising their own crazy families!
