In a world where digital platforms are increasingly shaping our understanding of reality, the teachings of a Catholic theologian from 800 years ago might seem distant or even irrelevant for some. However, the new Aquinas 101 digital learning platform, developed by the Thomistic Institute, aims to bridge that gap, demonstrating the timeless relevance of St. Thomas Aquinas’s writings.

Through a series of short, engaging videos, this platform invites users to explore complex theological and philosophical concepts, grounding them in the wisdom of one of the Church’s greatest thinkers.

The Aquinas 101 initiative is not your average YouTube channel. It is surely more than that. To begin with, it is an educational journey designed to make the profound teachings of St. Thomas accessible to everyone, from those newly exploring their faith to seasoned theologians.

Since its inception back in 2019, the Aquinas 101 YouTube channel has resonated with a broad audience, amassing over 127,000 subscribers and 10 million views. This success reflects a growing interest in Thomistic thought, especially among those seeking to deepen their understanding of Catholic doctrine and its application to modern life.

The new Aquinas 101 digital platform builds on this success by offering a more personalized learning experience. Users can create accounts, track their progress, and earn certificates of achievement as they delve into various courses. With 19 courses currently available, the platform covers a wide range of topics, including “Who is God?” and “Does Science Explain Everything?” as well as more focused studies on the sacraments, creation and evolution, the existence of God, and miracles.

Father Gregory Pine, O.P., a Dominican Friar and assistant director of the Thomistic Institute, emphasizes the platform’s accessibility and relevance.

“For centuries, St. Thomas’ philosophical and theological teachings have helped countless men and women pursue truth, deepen their faith, and develop a holistic understanding of the human person,” he explained in a press release. “In this modern era, we have developed Aquinas 101 to be accessible to anyone who would like to deepen their faith or learn about any number of important topics relevant to their daily lives as Catholics.”

One of the standout features of Aquinas 101 is its interactive nature. Users can submit questions to Dominican friars, access a digital version of the Summa Theologiae, and engage with content that is both intellectually rigorous and spiritually enriching. And, thanks to generous support, this comprehensive digital learning platform is entirely free.

For those looking to explore Catholicism more deeply, Aquinas 101 offers a valuable resource, combining ancient wisdom with modern technology. To begin your journey, visit Aquinas101.com.
