One of the fascinating things about Christianity is seeing how its different branches perform the Sacraments. In a recent post shared by Sachin Jose on X, we can get a glimpse of what goes on during the anointing part of a baptism in Eastern Orthodox Christianity -- and it so very sweet!
As the short post shows, the little baby boy is draped in a towel as he is being anointed by the priest. While we can't discern the actual words said by the priest -- other than the globally recognized "Amin" -- he is carefully anointing the baby on his hands, feet and ears.
However, when the priest dabs the infant's chest, the baby gives a little gurgle and broad smile that are timed to perfection. His burst of joy seems to spread to the priest and the little boy's loved ones as they welcome him into the Orthodox Church.
