Check out this festive pretzel art, just in time for Holy Thursday!

The sculpture was created by the Philly Pretzel Factory's Langhorne, Pennsylvania, location and shared on Facebook on Tuesday, April 15. This "Doughvinci" perfectly captures the essence of the Da Vinci masterpiece.

"In honor of Leonardo da Vinci's birthday - and - World Art Day, here's Doughvinci's 'Last Supper' in pretzel form," said the post, which was "liked" more than 4,000 times.

Brian and Shaun Kean, the sculpture's creators, told Aleteia that it took about an hour to complete.

"This piece took us approximately 50 minutes to prepare. In that amount of time we can twist about 800 regular pretzels," said the Keans.

The Kean family has Catholic roots, they explained to Aleteia, and "many [family members] work here at the store, including our mother."

"Guess you could say it has a bit of an influence in some of our pretzel work around the holidays!"

The Keans also make other seasonally appropriate pretzel art, including crosses, Easter bunnies, baby chicks, and flowers, they told Aleteia.

Pretzels are actually rooted in the Catholic faith, and were traditionally enjoyed during Lent as they contain only flour, salt, and water.

They were invented by monks, and their twisted design was intended to resemble arms crossed in prayer.
