If you’re wondering what actor Jim Caviezel has been up to since his TV series “Person of Interest” ended, wonder no more. His latest role has him playing Luke, the gospel writer, in the new film “Paul, Apostle of Christ,” which opens March 28.
Here is the trailer and some background info:
“PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST brings to life on screen the powerful story of a man who changed the course of history through his committed faith, yet at great cost to himself,” Director and Screenwriter Andrew Hyatt said. “The film shows what a deadly, dangerous place the Roman world was for the early Christian church, and it shows how Paul prepared the faithful to continue living out their beliefs in the face of it.”
PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST stars Jim Caviezel (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST), James Faulkner (Downton Abbey), Olivier Martinez (S.W.A.T.), Joanne Whalley (A.D. The Bible Continues) and John Lynch (THE SECRET GARDEN).
In PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST, Luke (Caviezel) risks his life to visit Paul (Faulkner), who is held captive in a Roman prison under Nero’s rule. Together, they struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread their message to the world.
AFFIRM Films, a Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) company, in association with Giving Films, presents an ODB Films production in association with Mandalay Pictures. Filmed in Malta, PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is produced by T.J. Berden (FULL OF GRACE) and David Zelon (SOUL SURFER). Executive Producers are Eric Groth, Rick Jackson, Harrison Powell and Jim Caviezel.
“We committed to create a film true to the biblical account of Paul’s life but also one that is dramatic and engaging,” said Producer T.J. Berden. “The trials faced by early Christians and their faith and bravery in spite of them will amaze audiences.”
