Magnificat’s first American editor, Father Peter John Cameron, to step down

Deacon Greg Kandra - published on 01/11/18

This announcement has been circulating online today:

Dear Friends of MAGNIFICAT,

There is some major news to share with you.

It seems hard to believe that the American edition of MAGNIFICAT was first launched almost two decades ago, in December of 1998. I have the honor of being the first editor-in-chief of MAGNIFICAT USA—a post I have held for twenty years. My religious superior has given me a new pastoral assignment, effective before the end of the year.

This means that I will be stepping down as editor-in-chief, and I am very pleased and honored to announce that Dominican Father Sebastian White will take my place. Father Sebastian is a devout and exceptionally talented young priest, and his many gifts will be a source of abundant blessings for MAGNIFICAT.

I cannot express adequately how thankful I am to God for the great privilege of serving this august publication. The graces that have come to me, both from the daily work of editing as well as from the occasions of meeting you, the readers, at MAGNIFICAT events, are countless.

All of us at MAGNIFICAT wanted you to be the first to know of this change. I am so happy to welcome Father Sebastian. And I am really looking forward to being a subscriber of MAGNIFICAT.

Thank you and God bless you all!

In Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P.
