Rhonda Ortiz wrote a piece today about the importance of proclaiming God’s love, rather than focusing on the weight of our sins:

Our faith is one of constant conversion, and it’s good to remind others of it. But before you do: make sure you know who you’re talking to… Want to destroy your faith? Focus exclusively on sin. Never think about God’s love. I guarantee you will fall victim to anxiety, scruples, perfectionism, cold legalism, or some combination thereof. It’s a miserable way to live. Been there, done that, don’t want another t-shirt!

To not focus on one’s sin can be a struggle, one that your correspondent knows too well, but in the wake of last night’s Dallas shooting, it seems prudent to remind us all of the importance of proclaiming God’s love to all that we come across. What do you think?
