The promises made at your baptism can become a powerful part of your spiritual life. Some of us made these promises on our own, while many others had them said by their parents and godparents.
Whatever the case may have been, your baptismal promises are a great way to recommit your life to God. The promises reject Satan and all his works, while also professing your belief in God. They are an affirmation and a promise to follow the ways of God and not Satan.
Here is a quick prayer from the 19th-century book Morning Prayers that acknowledges those promises and applies them to the rest of the day.
I renew my promises made in baptism and resolve irrevocable to love and serve you now and for ever. I desire to spend this day in your divine service and therefore I now offer up to you all the thoughts, words and actions of this day, by a pure intention of your greater glory, in union with that pure intention, with which my Lord Jesus Christ performed all his actions in his mortal life. I beg that my whole soul with all its powers may be ever yours, O Lord.
