Katy Lonergan shared the event on Twitter.

One of the best things about being an adult is getting to help your parents fulfill their dreams. This was just the case recently for Katy Lonergan, the Assistant Athletics Director at Notre Dame.

The first woman to hold this position, Lonergan recently shared on her Twitter account how her father had spent years listening to the Notre Dame football games on the radio. And it was these games that inspired him to become a football coach himself.

Finally, after 56 years as a coach, Lonergan was able to get her dad to come and watch his first game in person at the club's stadium. She was obviously delighted to share this photo of her dad looking thrilled to be at the stadium, complete with his "Fighting Irish" baseball cap, but the photo is also a reminder that there's no age limit to having your dreams come true.
