... and put things in perspective.

There has been so much anxiety in the air these last few years, and with the invasion of Ukraine, soaring living costs, and uncertainty in the workforce, there's no sign of it settling down.

While we can't do much personally about the geopolitical situation -- other than say a prayer, or fast for peace on Ash Wednesday -- we can be active in trying to dispel our own financial fears by taking inspiration and comfort from Scripture.

While the theme of money is prevalent throughout the Bible, these five short verses will help to relieve our woes and put things in perspective:

Remember: God will provide

Remember: Generosity has its rewards

Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you." Luke 6:38

Remember: Give in God's name

Remember: Money does not lead to happiness

For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains." 1 Timothy 6:10

Remember: There are always those less fortunate

In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts of the Apostles 20:35
