St. Gemma Galgani was a holy woman of the late 19th century who led a profound spiritual life. She was intimately united with Jesus' Passion and constantly desired to be even more united with him.
She would often pray this prayer for a particular grace, asking Jesus for the help she needed at that moment.
Yet, she also submitted herself to God's will, letting his will be done.
