Founded in 1911, it has more than 600 member organizations and reaches more than 26 million people.

Reaching millions
Aleteia (aleteia.org), an online publication distributed in seven languages (English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Slovenian), is the Catholic website with the largest audience on the Internet.
Aleteia is an initiative launched by lay Catholics that emerged in 2013 with the accompaniment of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
It is supported by the Foundation for Evangelization through the Media (FEM), whose president is currently Prince Dominique de La Rochefoucauld-Montbel, Grand Hospitaller of the Order of Malta.
Since July 2015, the Media-Participations Group has been an industrial operator of Aleteia.
Its publishing activity is carried out in line with the magisterium of Pope Francis, in a spirit of collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See.
In addition, bishops' conferences, religious orders and some religious communities are among the members of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Evangelization through the Media (FEM).
