Caroline Fischer - published on 08/22/24
For moms (and dads), it sometimes feels like it will take a miracle to make it through Mass, much less focus. Here are some simple prayers that can help.

Anxiously trying to calm a fussy baby during a beautiful homily. The 4-year-old who has a melt down during the Prayer of the Faithful. The 2-year-old twins who decide to have a wrestling match in the middle of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Moms, we have all been there.

We know that you deeply desire to stay fully focused on  the Mass, and that you would really, really, really be thankful if you could listen to those readings. But there are certain Sundays when your young ones are having a tough time and if feels like you just want to survive the next 45 minutes in church with your sanity intact. And that’s okay.

As a parent, you have been called to an incredibly challenging and important vocation. Remember that Jesus is just happy to have you and your beautiful children present with Him. It's great that you are bringing your small children to church! And believe it or not, it is still possible to turn this particular moment of difficulty into a wonderful participation in the sacrifice of the Mass.

Watch the video above to learn four super quick and super simple prayers that can help even the most frustrated parent participate more deeply in Mass!
