This incredibly intense trailer, featuring Johnny Cash's "God's Gonna Cut You Down," promises an action packed season that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

The Chosen is back in 2025 with the latest installment of this hit show on the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples. The production team over at 5&2 Studios just dropped the trailer for the show’s much anticipated 5th season, titled Last Supper, and announced that it will begin its three-part release in theaters on March 28, 2025.

The Chosen has had many incredible and exhilarating moments over the years, but nothing we’ve seen so far has given us the same chills as the trailer for Season 5. The season is set to follow the Gospel narrative from Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem until the Last Supper and while this is just the span of a few days, there’s a lot to fit into just eight episodes.

The trailer has an eerie, incredibly tense opening with Judas speaking over a black screen. As the picture comes into focus we see the young man standing before the Sanhedrin – the Jewish religious authority – explaining that he does believe Jesus is Messiah, a belief he has come to because he has “seen too much,” but is still resolute in his decision to betray the Son of God, because “he has not seen enough.”

From there the trailer launches into a montage of shots from the season, all the while playing Johnny Cash’s intensely dark song “God’s Gonna Cut You Down.” The music sets a dramatic air for the subsequent shots that grow more intense as the trailer develops.

We follow Jesus as he walks through Jerusalem, becoming disgusted by the presence of merchants and money lenders at the Temple. We see his anger as he confronts the Jewish leaders, a moment of supreme intensity from Jonathan Roumie, who has become iconic for his portrayal of Jesus Christ. The look on his face as he grabs his whip and begins chasing them out was a thing of goosebumps and adrenaline.

With choreographed fight scenes, fiery explosions, and a particularly emotional shot of the Apostles gathered around the Last Supper table, the trailer promises a season that will keep viewers at the edge of their seats. All of this is wrapped up in the incredibly high quality of production – beautiful sets, detailed costumes, and talented acting – that we have come to expect from The Chosen
