Recently my friend was lamenting that it can be hard to think of ideas for dates with her husband.
“Have you tried a pizza-making class?” I asked. “What about axe throwing, or going on a kayak trip?” These are a few of the dates my husband and I have enjoyed with each other in the past year.
As she and I talked, I thought maybe other couples out there would like some inspiration for dates. When you’ve been together a long time, sometimes your interests grow apart. Trying something new together can be a great way to reconnect, and a playful adventure helps keep your relationship strong.
Of course, these ideas aren’t just for couples who have been together a long time and want to try something different. They’re also perfect for new couples, as these activities can help them learn more about each other.
Here are my favorite ideas for outside-the-box dates. Besides these, you might try volunteering together, which is a great way to get to know each other while giving back to the community. (I didn’t include this one below because it didn’t quite fit in any of the categories).
And my husband and I are always looking for more fun date ideas, so let me know your favorites in the comments!
