Ask God to help you in a special way to prepare your heart for Easter.

Holy Week is a spiritually intense time, and sometimes we need a little extra help from Heaven, so that we can focus on the beautiful mysteries of Jesus’ Passion, death and resurrection.

Here is a prayer from the Gradual in the former Roman Missal that can be used throughout this week to ask God for extra grace.

Arise, O Lord and be at my trial,
my God and my Lord undertake my cause.
Help us, O God our Savior
and for the glory of thy Name, O Lord,
deliver us and forgive us our sins for thy Name’s sake.
