After celebrating a Mass, the pope made a surprise visit to ANAK-TNK FoundationAfter celebrating Mass on January 16, 2015, at the Cathedral in Manila, Pope Francis visited the ANAK-TNK Foundation, which houses 300 homeless and abused chidlren. Fr. Mattieu Dauchez, Director of the Foundation, welcomed the Holy Father with words reminiscent of Pope Francis’ call to listen to and meet the needs of the poorest among us. The children were hoping to meet the pope since writing him thousands of letters back in September asking him to come when he visited the Philippines. This video, which includes a powerful encounter between a young girl from ANAK-TNK and the pope at a youth event, shows the joy and vulnerability that children teach all of us.
