ASQUITH’S COMMENT

If the Catholic Church would but dip its toe just a little more convincingly into the "pool of the Spirit," we wouldn’t be seeing these numbers leaving the Church. There is a part of me which feels this is a case of "just desserts," but the solution is to be found in encouraging diversity; especially when that diversity supports a return to the foundations of Catholicism.

We see diversity in every area imaginable, except for Pentecostal Catholicism? If the curia are satisfied with seeing great numbers leaving our ranks, fair enough; but we, within our own communities, should not be satisfied with this situation, but should instead urge our leaders to embrace the needs of those who thirst for additional aspects of Scriptural spirituality. The solutions are numerous and uncomplicated, if we would but love our brothers and sisters with sufficient zeal to demonstrate that we treasure their fellowship.
