“La Fe de Maria”
“La fe de María para decirte sí, un sí sin medidas.”
The voice of Ítala Rodriguez searches a place where few people have the courage to go: absolute and total abandonment to the Lord’s will, complete renunciation of oneself in order to become an instrument in his hands.
How much do we trust him? How much are we ready to give up for him?
Are we expecting something in return, or do we give freely?
Have we built a wall to shield our certainties?
Mary was so young, and yet she had the courage to abandon herself totally to God. Even though her heart was troubled at the sound of the angel’s words: “Hail, full of Grace, the Lord is with you. … Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High” (Luke 1:30-32).
On hearing these words, Mary courageously and unreservedly abandoned herself to the Lord’s will. She said yes, and her yes was complete.
It was a yes that changed the history of the world, the history of peoples, our story, your story.
“Give me faith, Lord, the faith of Mary,” we hear in the chorus. Is there any greater grace one can receive?
And us? As our lives roll on, are we capable of hearing what the Lord is asking of us? Are our hearts humble, open and ready like Mary’s?
Ítala sings with all the passion, depth and freshness such a song requires.
A song, a hymn of praise, a sweet grace that reaches in and searches hearts, leaving behind the trace of a divine and supernatural love. The only love that will last forever.
The song “La Fe de Maria” [“Mary’s Faith”] is the cover song of the 2014 album released by Son by Four.
