Candace Payne sings the old Bluegrass Gospel hymn “There Is Power in the Blood” — and plays the banjitar The name Candace Payne may not ring a bell, but you probably know she is. A funny video she made in her car about buying (and wearing) a Chewbacca mask went viral, and since then she’s appeared in major news outlets and on morning shows. One thing Payne hasn’t been shy to mention is her Christian faith, and this video shows that this sincere, fun-loving mom who just wanted to make people laugh with her Chewbacca video happens to also like to sing — and she can pay the banjitar, a six-stringed banjo. Here she treats listeners to an old Bluegrass hymn called “There Is Power in the Blood” written by Lewis Edgar Jones (1865-1936).
