I’m not particular…but could he have blue eyes?

I’ll be patient…But could we meet by the first of July?

Marie Miller’s playful pop-folk song 6’2, which was featured on Dancing with the Stars, probably strikes a chord with most girls. It’s a prayer to God for her future husband.

“Lord I’ve been prayin’ for somebody I’ve never seen. And I don’t care what he looks like as long as he loves me. No I’m not particular,” she sings, right before adding a few more requests:

But could he have blue eyes

Just like the sky

And blonde hair Wavy and light

And 6 foot 2 is my favorite height

But lord I don’t care what he looks like

Isn’t this like so many of our prayers? Lord, thy will be done…But I sure wouldn’t mind if your will was this!

The song goes on, “If you’re teaching me patience, I’m willing to wait this one out. I’ll be patient…But could we meet by the first of July?”

In September of 2015 she performed this fun prayer, along with her song “You’re Not Alone” for Pope Francis at the Festival of Families. See the performance here:
