5-year-old’s tutorial makes shoelace tying easier (VIDEO)

Cerith Gardiner - published on 08/04/17

Sweetest little boy captivates the world with a shoelace tying method he learned from a friend.

Parenthood can be a struggle, that’s for sure, and although we’re prepared for a lot of the challenges our little angels will face there’s never been a quick-fix solution to teach them the most basic, but tricky, everyday task: tying shoelaces. So when 5-year-old Colton shows us in under two minutes how to get those laces tied, you’ll be wondering why no one came up with it before.

Despite the distractions of daily life (dad and dog making the odd entrance), Colton takes us through the crucial steps in getting the job done, with the gentle—and patient—encouragement of his mom, the camerawoman. The little cutie makes sure to give credit to his friend River for passing on this new talent but he saves the best for last when he tenderly says to his mom: “I love you.” Heart meltability: 10/10.
