“The pope approached me to say that everything was going to be okay and kissed my forehead.”It was an international topic of conversation on Thursday. While the Pope was touring the streets of Iquique, Chile, a policewoman fell off her horse as the Popemobile passed by. The horse had been spooked by the crowds.
But to everyone’s surprise, the Pope stopped in the road, got out of the Popemobile, and walked over to assist her.
Hours after the event and safely in a medical center, the woman recounted what the pope had told her:
“When I hit the ground I briefly lost consciousness and was looking up. There were a lot of people — paramedics — and at that moment, the pope approached to tell me to stay calm, that everything was going to be okay. He kissed my forehead and left.”

“I’m so thankful for the kindness of the pope, who had the deference to get down from the popemobile and help me in that moment.”
In addition to his words on the scene, the pope made sure that a rosary arrived to Ana Belen in the hospital.
