Located at the Basilica Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux in Lisieux, France, is a chapel that holds her body in a reliquary. Millions of pilgrims journey each year to spend time in prayer and reflection at this holy site.
St. Therese’s “little way” is that of trusting in Jesus to make her holy and relying on small daily sacrifices instead of great deeds. In many ways she is the patroness of finding holiness through everyday life.
St. Therese was declared a Doctor of the Church on October 19, 1997, by Pope John Paul II.
