Pro-life group plans May 4 rally in New York City.Following the passage of a New York law effectively allowing abortion until birth, one pro-life group is taking to Times Square to broadcast a live 4D ultrasound of a baby in the third trimester of pregnancy.

The ultrasound, which will be broadcast on a jumbotron at the May 4 event organized by Focus on the Family, will also feature live music and speakers on behalf of the unborn.

“We’re looking to fill Times Square with pro-life Americans, and it will feature live music, compelling and inspirational speakers, and best of all, live 4-D ultrasounds broadcast on a massive digital marquee in Times Square, powerfully showing the world that a baby inside the womb is fully human and should be given the chance to be born,” Focus on the Family announced.

“There is no way a person is going to be able to say, ‘That is not a child.’ It is a child and we want everybody to see it,” Focus on the Family president Jim Daly told CBN News.

The event, named “Alive from New York” is the culmination of the group’s “See Life Clearly” campaign, and is expected to be attended by pro-life advocates from across the country.

In addition to the Times Square event, as part of the campaign, the organization is gathering signatures for a pro-life “manifesto” to present to the White House and Congress, and raising money to make ultrasounds available to women considering abortion, an initiative that the group says has saved an estimated 425,000 over the last 15 years.

New York’s “Reproductive Health Act,” which passed on January 22, allows for abortion “at any time when necessary to protect a woman’s life or health.” Under the law, which pro-life advocates say will make it easier to acquire a late-term abortion, the “health” of the mother refers to mental or emotional conditions as well as physical health.
