As we await further news from Paris, wondering what has survived the terrible fire at Notre Dame Cathedral, one picture from the destruction is a reminder to hope.

The reign of Jesus cannot be destroyed, even if, as Pope Francis once reflected, Our Victorious Lord has chosen an uncomfortable throne:

The Teacher’s message is clear: While the great people of the Earth build themselves ‘thrones’ for their own power, God chooses an uncomfortable throne, the cross, from which to reign by giving his life. ~ Pope Francis, October 21, 2018
