Advent, says Pope Francis, “ is the time to welcome Jesus’ coming, as He comes as a messenger of peace to show us the ways of God.”

To welcome Christ this Advent season, we must make our hearts ready homes for the inspired Word of God. The traditional practice of praying with Holy Scripture, called lectio divina, helps us unite our own hearts with God, by drawing us close to him.

This special Sunday episode of the weekly podcast Godsplaining features the readings from the First Sunday of Advent read aloud, followed by reflection and commentary. Join the Dominican Friars as they explore the rich, theological meaning of the Scriptures and offer practical, relatable tips for daily Catholic living.

Listen on Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and wherever podcasts are found.
