Finish the Easter octave with mercy in your hearts.COVID-19 has provided many of us the perfect opportunity to reflect on our lives. The sheer severity and duration of the pandemic means we have learned to let go of many trivial things that previously upset us. It’s harder to get annoyed or bear grudges towards loved ones, as we have so much more appreciation for what they bring to our lives.
With this in mind, Divine Mercy Sunday, which falls on the Sunday after Easter, is an ideal day to extend this further — to appreciate God’s unconditional mercy and determine to be more merciful to others. It isn’t always easy, but some wise and holy men and women have shared their experiences of mercy and how life-changing it is. So look to these saints to inspire you as you embrace the beauty of mercy.
