The actor knows what's truly important in life!

We have often written about Mark Wahlberg, reporting on his films, family life, and strong faith. And overall, from what we've gleaned, he seems like a pretty decent chap!

In fact, having interviewed him recently about his film Father Stu, it was wonderful to hear him talk about Stu with such compassion and enthusiasm. But maybe one of the things I really appreciated about him was how he spoke with such love (and brutal honesty) about his kids and his wife. Far from the big screen, he is very much a family man.

Recently, the actor posted on Facebook a photo of his wife and their son, Michael, after his confirmation. He simply wrote "So proud of this young man. Congratulations on your confirmation, Michael!" with a few obligatory appropriate emoticons.

It was a short message that gave a little insight into the actor's family and faith. Yet, it was also a message to his fans that his faith matters to him -- and indeed, to his son.

However, the dad-of-four wanted to make sure his Instagram followers were kept in the loop so he shared the news with his followers there, too. Although this time he gave thanks and credit to his wife on their son's achievement.

If that wasn't enough, Wahlberg also shared a video of him on his knees in prayer, congratulating his son Michael, and "all the young people out there who are confirmed and taken their relationship with the Lord into their adulthood, what a commitment you guys have made. Congratulations to all of you."

It's a lovely gesture that sends the message that choosing to take your faith into your adulthood is something to be admired and celebrated, even in Hollywood. And hopefully Wahlberg's message will inspire others to openly share their faith with the world around them.
