Nichole Linton, a 37-year-old traveling nurse from Houston Texas, was charged Monday with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence after allegedly running a red light at a busy LA intersection the previous Thursday at 90 mph, causing a devastating car accident.
One of the murder charges was for an 8.5 month old unborn child named Armani. Armani's mother, 23-year-old Asherey Ryan; 11-month-old brother Alonzo Quintero and father, Reynold Lester were on their way to a prenatal appointment when they were killed in the devastating accident, states the family's Go Fund Me page.
If convicted on all charges, Linton could face up to 90-years in prison. The authorities at the scene of the accident reported there was no evidence of alcohol use on her part, but her lawyer, Halim Dhanidina, said she has a history of "profound mental health issues." She has also been involved in 13 previous car accidents.
While all the information coming out about this accident is nothing less than horrific, the news that an unborn child's personhood is being acknowledged by the authorities is encouraging to those in the pro-life community, specifically in a state where abortion may eventually become protected by the state's constitution.
