These Scripture verses help children hear God speaking to them in the ordinary events of their lives.

When children memorize beautiful words, it's a gift that lasts a lifetime. As they grow up, they can call upon these words from their memory for comfort and strength. That’s one reason I have my children memorize poems and other beautiful writings as part of their homeschool work.

It’s even more meaningful when these words have for their source the Divine Author of Sacred Scripture. These Bible verses help us hear God speaking to us in the ordinary events of our lives.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, grandparent, or religious education teacher, here are some Bible verses you can teach to the kids in your care. They’re short enough to memorize easily, but still incredibly meaningful and encouraging!

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

“Fear of others becomes a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord is safe.” (Proverbs 29:25)

“The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)
