Standing tall at 6'7". Aaron Judge is a man of great stature but even greater faith.
The much admired New York Yankees slugger has been impressing baseball fans with his incredible performance this season, with a broken home-run record hopefully around the corner.
However, the 30 year old, who's been with the Yankees since 2013, credits his parents for his success: “My parents are amazing, they’ve taught me so many lessons. I honestly can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me.’’
Wayne and Patty from California adopted Judge at birth, along with his older biological brother. As reported in the Daily Citizen, it was a match made in heaven: “I feel they kind of picked me. I feel that God was the one that matched us together."
His parents didn't reveal to him that he was adopted, but by the age of 10 Judge started to question things: “I knew I didn’t look like them. So I started asking questions and they told me I was adopted and answered all my questions, and that was that. I was fine with it. It really didn’t bother me because they are the only parents I’ve known."
And while the outfielder is quick to share how blessed he is to have such loving and supportive parents, his mom is quick to share: "We’re more blessed than he is."
As baseball fans tune in to see Judge hopefully achieve his record-breaking feat, the loving son will be leaning on his family and his faith, and in particular his favorite Bible verse from 2 Corinthians 5:7:
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
“It’s one of my favorite Bible verses,” explains Judge. “[I] try to live my life by it, and always trust the Man above and what He’s got in store for us. We never know what’s around the corner, but if we have faith in Him, He will lead us in the right direction.”
