There are certain moments in life when temptation is put in our way, and how we respond to these tricky moments says a lot about who we are. This was just the case for Josiah Vargas, who recently shared his story on TikTok.
Under the username of @dookiedoeboy, Vargas explained how we went on a drive-thru trip to McDonald's and received a little extra in his take away.
While he received the sausage McMuffin that he'd ordered, he also received a bundle of cash in a bag that totaled thousands of dollars. As he shared in his now-viral TikTok video, "What's in this bag? ... Just a couple thousand dollars here. Like what is this? Why would they do this? Now I have to return this because I'm a good person, I guess."
Now of course, he could have just driven on home a little richer. However, Vargas went into the shop to return the money. There he was greeted with lots of grateful staff members thankful for his good deed.
"They were all just hugging me and thanking me and crying, and I get free McDonald's for a month, I guess." The restaurant also gave Vargas $200 for his honesty.
The video has received many comments, with many people stating that they'd have kept the money. However, not only did Vargas do what was morally right, he also possible saved an employee from losing their job.
In the end, it's inspiring to see stories like this shared for everyone to see. It can hopefully encourage others to walk away from temptation, and remind us that there's also a lot of good in the world.
