It's great to see a video notching up over 5 million likes on TikTok alone for all the right reasons!

There's no doubt that young adults seem to be struggling more with their mental health than ever before. This can be down to a myriad of reasons, including: pressure generated by unrealistic expectations shared on social media -- accompanied with 24/7 doom scrolling that leads to an uncertainty and fear for the future -- loneliness, or as Harvard Education shared, they feel a "lack of purpose."

Whatever the reason, increasing mental health concerns amongst teens and young adults is certainly worrying. However, one of the benefits of this generation is their ability to talk about their issues, with an impressive emotional awareness. And while social media can be detrimental, it also provides people a platform where they can share their struggles, and maybe motivate others.

This was just the case with a recent reel posted by Breanna Kate on TikTok that has garnered 5.6 million likes already.

In the video below, Breanna Kate shared a text conversation with her mom about feeling anxious and wanting to chat. Although her parents live 600 miles away, they hurried to their daughter's side to chat in person... and of course, give her a much-needed hug.

The short clip highlights not only the importance of reaching out when in need, but how the unconditional love of a parent can really be just what we all need.

It was adorable to see that both parents went to be by their daughter's side -- and lots of people commented how sweet Breanna Kate's father was as he patiently waited to get his hug. However, as one person so accurately commented on the post:

"You are a millionaire. And I’m not talking about money."

It's interesting to see how a simple video of parents showing up for their daughter in distress proved so very popular. Perhaps it's a call-for-help so many youngsters would love to make, but don't feel able to do so for multiple reasons.

However, the message to young adults is clear: If you're feeling overwhelmed reach out to your parents, while they might not be able to take a 600-mile trip, they'll certainly love to know they're still needed by their much-loved offspring, and will no doubt do their best to support you.

And to parents of big kids: it is sometimes hard for them to share they need help, or just a simple hug, once they've flown the nest. But even if they ignore you, persevere and always check in; you never know how reassuring it can be for them to know you care, even from a distance.

Finally, for all the older parents of older children, here's a little acknowledgment for the gifts you keep on sharing in your golden years:
