Great moments in journalism: “Pope Franchise” appointed “head of catholic Christian”

Deacon Greg Kandra - published on 06/22/15

Editing doesn’t get much worse than this. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and presume someone hit “publish” before proofreading this.

From Lauderdale Daily News:

On Sunday, head of around 1.6 billion Catholic Christian around the world Pope Franchise came heavily on the weapons manufacturer countries and call them hypocrites if they call themselves Christain, Pope said. The pope issued his toughest condemnation till date since he was appointed head of the catholic Christian on the weapons industry while addressing the rally of thousands of young people at the end of the first day of his trip to the   Italian city of Turin. “If you trust only men you have lost,” he told the young people in a long, rambling talk about war, trust and politics after putting aside his prepared address.

Screen shot below, just in case some sharp-eyed editor finally realized how horrible this was and fixed it. (Otherwise, no one would believe it…)
