British Muslim Groups Post Ad Condemning Paris Attacks

From The Daily Mail:

Hundreds of Muslim groups have taken out an advert condemning the Paris terror attacks and pledging allegiance to ‘the values of pluralism and tolerance’.

A message placed in the national Press today criticised the ‘barbaric acts’ of the bombers and gunmen who murdered 129 people in the French capital last week.

It also praised a security guard who was working at the Stade de France at the time of the assault and is believed to be a Muslim, saying that ‘brave individuals’ like him should be seen as the true representatives of Islam.

The advert in the Daily Telegraph was organised by the Muslim Council of Britain on behalf of more than 300 local mosques, community groups and university Islamic societies.

The overwhelming majority of Muslims in the UK and elsewhere have been quick to condemn Friday’s brutal attacks on a concert venue, stadium and a number of restaurants in Paris.

A number of Muslims were involved in the efforts to defend the public against the ISIS-inspired attackers, including a stadium guard named Zouheir and a heroic bartender called Safer.

The MCB advert reads: ‘With one voice, British Muslims condemn the Paris attacks unreservedly. We offer our condolences to the victims and their families.
