The viral video shows the delighted reaction of an adorable 2-year-old when her dad unwraps an oil painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe that he bought for her while he was away for work.
Her joyful expression would merit attention on its own, but the video got extra views because of the family involved: her “papa” is actor David Henrie, famous for his roles in How I Met Your Mother and Wizards of Waverly Place (Disney Channel), among others.
His wife, Maria Cahill, with whom he has two children—a 2-year-old daughter, Pia, and baby boy who is not yet a year old—is a former Miss Delaware, and a devout Catholic. Henrie himself was raised Catholic and reportedly rediscovered his faith in recent years.
In the video in question, the 32-year-old actor says, “This is a hand-painted oil painting …” —and Pia interjects, “Oh, Papa! Hey, Papa!”— “of guess who?” She gasps as she sees the image and exclaims: “Gaayupe!” Henrie then confirms, “Guadalupe!” laughing in delight with his daughter.
