There’s a growing emphasis today on holistic health care, that is, healing that takes into account the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—in the quest for optimal wellness. It makes a lot of sense: Many people prefer receiving guidance on how to tweak their lifestyle to improve their health rather than immediately opting for medication or surgeries.

If you stop to think about it, a holistic approach to health is a natural fit for many Christians, who are already mindful to care for the soul as well as the body. So it’s no wonder that holistic health organizations are becoming popular among this demographic.

Curious what’s out there? Check out these 3 health organizations designed to serve the modern woman. Each has a different focus but all focus on supporting women (and one serves men and children, too!) holistically.

1Feminae Vero

Feminae Vero is a non-profit organization dedicated to fertility awareness education and other means of supporting women’s holistic health, with a special focus on the connection between faith and health. It launched in January of 2021.

Mary Kate Knorr, founder of Feminae Vero, said, “Feminae Vero exists to serve, educate, and evangelize girls and women on the truths of their reproductive health and how it connects to our Catholic faith.”

Women can find a variety of services at Feminae Vero, including the following:

    2The Guiding Star Project

The Guiding Star Project is a nationwide family of care centers that empower women to understand, embrace, and love their natural bodies. The Project’s “whole-life approach” aims to honor women’s bodies and minds. It was founded in 2011.

Guiding Star Centers offer pregnancy support, breastfeeding help, fertility education, drop-in child care and much more, creating safe havens that uphold human dignity in all stages of life. At its six locations (and counting!), the Guiding Star Project offers services in the following core areas:

Founder Leah Jacobson recently released her new book, Wholistic Feminism: Healing the Identity Crisis Caused by the Women’s Movement. In it, she seeks to restore hope by offering insight into the true definition and value of the female identity both physical and beyond. Jacobson writes in the prologue,

      3Reform Wellness

Reform Wellness is a functional medicine and holistic wellness practice rooted in Christ. “We redefine health as the state of body and soul, together,” says their site.

Unlike the other two organizations, Reform Wellness serves both women and men. It also offers consulting for children, so the whole family can benefit. Their services include the following:

These organizations can help the modern Christian to grow healthier in soul and body, hopefully making it easier for us to live more fully the life God intended for each of us.
